NANNING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- All continuous girders of the Nameng Chengbi River Grand Bridge on the Huangbai Railway, a landmark project of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, have been fully closed, marking important progress in the project's construction, according to China Railway 25th Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
The bridge, located in Youjiang District of Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has a total length of 686.9 meters and is designed with four spans of continuous girders, crossing the Chengbi River Reservoir and the Yinchuan-Baise Expressway. It is a key control project on the entire line.
The Chengbi River Reservoir spanned by the bridge is a national first-class drinking water source with strict environmental protection standards. To protect the ecological environment of the reservoir area, builders set up an environmental protection isolation belt of more than 300 meters on the water surface around the continuous girder construction area, which can effectively absorb oil pollution and construction debris that may be generated during construction. Various types of waste at the construction site are also collected, transferred and disposed of in a timely manner, building a double protective barrier for the water body of the Chengbi River Reservoir.
"To protect the surrounding resources and environment, we adopted advanced water quality monitoring equipment to conduct real-time monitoring of indicators related to water pollution that may be caused by construction," said Huang Ming, project manager of China Railway 25th Bureau. Monitoring information is connected to the information room and mobile terminals through the equipment cloud platform. Once mud leakage, oil pollution or other situations occur during construction, the monitoring terminal will automatically alarm and remind construction personnel to deal with them in a timely manner.
The Huangbai Railway has a total length of about 315 kilometers and a designed speed of 160 kilometers per hour. It is a national Class I single-track electrified railway. After the project is completed and open to traffic, it will further improve the regional railway network layout and become a convenient passage from northern Guizhou to the Beibu Gulf region of Guangxi. It is of great significance for accelerating the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and promoting coordinated regional economic and social development.
